Danielle Stones, BSc (Hons), MCSP, HCPC
Founder and Physiotherapist
Founder Danielle obtained her Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy at Leeds Metropolitan University, achieving a first-class honours degree in 2014. After graduating, Danielle worked for a number of well-established private clinics and sports teams as a physiotherapist. Here, she developed her expertise in managing Musculoskeletal, Orthopaedic and Surgical patients alongside developing a keen interest in outpatient rehabilitation allowing patients to optimise their recovery and reach their goals.
Danielle holds additional training and qualifications in Acupuncture, Biomechanics, gait analysis, and hands and plastics. Danielle helps patients achieve their goals with a combination of manual hands-on treatment and exercise therapy.
Danielle started DLS Physiotherapy from her parents’ house in 2017. The following year, she had the unexpected opportunity to acquire a practice in the area she lived in. She was delighted at the amount of support shown by the community, and went on to expand both her team and premises over recent years. Opening a second site which included a rehabilitation gym and employing the team she has today to continue the DLS journey. From the new site the team run several strength, mobility, balance, and Pilates classes designed to cater for various fitness levels.
Molina Marshall-Brooksbank BSc Pre-Reg MSc, DipMSK, MCSP, HCPC
Physiotherapist
Molina completed her pre-registration MSc in Physiotherapy at York St John’s University in 2016, following her BSc Honours in Psychology from The University of Nottingham (2012).
She completed her rotations and interned for Wimbledon Academy, before specialising in Musculoskeletal & Orthopaedic physiotherapy. Molina went on to work in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy and Oncology in a prestigious Private Hospital in Marylebone, gaining experience with pre- and post-surgical cancer rehabilitation. Since relocating to Yorkshire in 2021, Molina now works as a band 7 First Contact Practitioner and Specialist Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist in the NHS as well as a Physiotherapist and Clinical Pilates Instructor at DLS.
She has completed a masters’ module in advanced diagnostic and treatment skills for the lower limb and spine at Sheffield Hallam University as well as completed the Diploma in Musculoskeletal Medicine run by the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. Molina is a Clinical Pilates instructor and has completed level 1-3 APPI Clinical Mat Pilates, Pre and Postnatal Pilates, Pink Ribbon Pilates Programme and Pilates for Runners as well as a Yoga Instructor.
Molina is a keen runner and this extends into her clinical practice where she is very passionate about treating and preventing running related injuries. Having had two children herself, she is especially interested in helping women return to running post childbirth.
Molina uses a combination of exercise therapy, Pilates, and hands-on treatment to help patients optimise recovery and reach their goals. Molina runs several Pilates classes at DLS, including Pilates for Runners and pre- and post-natal Pilates.
Richard Wade, BSc (Hons), MCSP, HCPC
Physiotherapist
Rich graduated from Leeds Beckett University with a 1st class degree in Physiotherapy. During this time Rich experienced a wide range of clinical settings and specialities of clinical care; from MSK outpatients, hype-acute stroke rehab and paediatric ICU, to community-based physio and working within the Leeds Long-Covid Service. Rich also holds a degree in Performance Practice and was Artistic-Director of an award-winning physical theatre company for many years, working with theatre and dance companies across the UK and in touring productions across Europe. It was working with movement, coupled with delivering outdoor education and activities that led to Rich becoming a physiotherapist.
Rich’s clinical interest surrounds the therapeutic effect of communication, particularly in non-specific chronic low back pain and he has a professional interest in neurology. In a sports capacity, Rich enjoys working with runners and cyclists to work towards their goals by engaging in prehab to reduce risk of injury and improve consistency in performance. Rich also has extensive experience working with children both in and out of a clinical setting and can create assessment and treatment plans especially for these paediatric patients.
Rich leads various classes at DLS, these include: Strength and Balance, Return to Exercise and Stretch and Breath.
Laura Dixon, BSc
Sports Therapist
Laura graduated from the University of Gloucestershire in 2020 with a first-class honours BSc degree in Sports Therapy. Throughout university she gained extensive knowledge of rehabilitation as well as valuable hands-on experience with a variety of sports teams, such as Cardiff Blues RFC and Wales Women’s RFC. She also gained quality hands on experience in a private musculoskeletal clinic in Cardiff, working a long side a GB basketball player and GB Paralympian before making her move up north.
During Laura’s time at DLS Physiotherapy, she has completed both advanced acupuncture and electroacupuncture courses, adding to her range of treatment techniques to help manage Musculoskeletal pain. She also completed a ‘Physio for Runners’ course last year which now enables her to analyse biomechanics, gait and devise training, rehab/prehab programmes to optimise running performance and prevent/address injuries.
Laura shares the team’s passion for sport and is a keen netballer. Her understanding of the demands exercise can put on the body helps Laura every day in her clinic work. She enjoys working with a variety of different patients, helping them achieve their goals throughout their rehabilitation journey.
McCauley Taylor, BSc (Hons), MSST
Sports Therapist
Mac is a distinguished Sports Therapy graduate from Leeds Beckett University, with a passion for seamlessly integrating rehabilitation into performance enhancement. Mac uses a combination of exercise therapy and hands-on treatment to help clients optimise recovery and reach their goals. Currently pursuing an MSc in Strength and Conditioning, Mac brings a wealth of experience from working with numerous football and rugby clubs, including impactful roles at Menston Cricket Club and as an MSK Therapist at DLS Physiotherapy. Mac, driven by both professional expertise and a genuine love for sports, specialises in cricket while maintaining a keen interest in football, rugby, and golf. This broad sports knowledge uniquely equips him to tailor rehabilitation and Strength and Conditioning programs, enhancing performance across various athletic disciplines. With a robust background in sports therapy, clinical experience, and a commitment to innovative fitness services, Mac is dedicated to optimising athlete performance and well-being.
